This Privacy Policy describes how LampLit (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the LampLit iOS app.
Summary
- We use Firebase Authentication to sign you in (including anonymous sign-in by default).
- Optional sign-in with Apple or Google is supported.
- Your reading progress and preferences are stored on device and may sync with iCloud (CloudKit).
- Profile photos are stored in Firebase Storage if you upload one.
- Purchases are processed by Apple; RevenueCat is used to manage subscription status.
1) Account and authentication data
- Email address and password if you create an account with email/password.
- Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In data (such as your name and email) if you choose those methods.
- A Firebase user identifier, including for anonymous accounts.
2) User content and profile data
- Profile photo if you choose to upload one.
- Display name if you choose to set one.
3) App data and preferences
- Reading plan selections, reading progress, and schedule information.
- Preferences such as selected Bible version.
- Cached content (e.g., daily verse data and reading plan files).
4) Purchase and entitlement data
- Subscription or purchase status and related identifiers via Apple and RevenueCat.
5) Network and device information
- Basic network information (such as IP address) may be processed by service providers when you connect to Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple/Google, or BibleGateway. We do not add
additional tracking beyond what these services require to operate.
- Provide authentication and account access.
- Sync reading progress and preferences across devices using iCloud.
- Download and update reading plans from Firebase Storage.
- Show and update your profile photo.
- Deliver Daily Verse content.
- Manage subscriptions and entitlements.
- Troubleshoot issues and improve app reliability.
- On your device: Core Data, UserDefaults, and local caches.
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit): reading plan data and related app records if iCloud is enabled on your device.
- Firebase (Google): authentication data and profile photo storage.
- RevenueCat: subscription and entitlement status.
Sharing and Third-Party Services
We use these third-party services to operate the app:
- Firebase Authentication and Firebase Storage (Google)
- Google Sign-In
- Sign in with Apple
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Apple App Store (payments)
We do not sell your personal information.
Your Choices
- You can use the app as a guest (anonymous account) or create a full account.
- You can update or delete your profile photo at any time.
- You can sign out or delete your account in the app.
- You can control iCloud sync in iOS settings.
Data Retention
- Account data is kept until you delete your account.
- Profile photos are stored until you delete them.
- App data stored in iCloud or on device remains until you delete it or remove the app.
Children’s Privacy
LampLit is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
We rely on Apple, Firebase, and RevenueCat security controls, along with standard iOS protections, to safeguard your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
